Ubisoft Far Cry 6 Info

Hi :)

im a former Ubisoft Canada dev now working somewhere else. Because there's so much hype around Ubisoft's upcoming titles like WD:L G&M & AC:V just to name a few i would like to share the info i got about the next Far Cry title "Far Cry 6" it isn't a whole lot so it wouldn't be a super long read

The game was originally in development at Ubisoft Montreal for a bit until it was moved over to a collaboration between Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Sofia but right now the Sofia studio are mainly making the game due to WD:L being delayed so Toronto studio obviously needs time to polish that game.

The game will take place during Cold War. You will play as an american spy who's been sent to a fictional Soviet Union and has to gather information for the US government now just like with all FC games it goes wrong and you've been captured by the communist so you've got to somehow get out of the fictional Soviet Union. Ubisoft is trying to make sure that the game won't be too political tho im wondering how they will do that.

Map will be quite big as you will be setting foot in both somewhere Western Russia and Ukraine. BTW the map is so effing detailed its insane.

Game will have a much more gritty feel compared to previous FC games. The overall feel of the game is much more daker toned. Don't expect the sunny and happy feel of FC3 or FC5 it will feel super different.

Game will run on a completely new engine that can support much bigger worlds and very stunning graphics oh and yeah its an in-house engine obviously

I have absolutely no clue when there'll be a reveal but i think E3 2020 would be a fitting time for the reveal so expect some sort of teaser like we did with WD:L. I also don't know when it will be released but Jason Schreier from Kotaku UK says it will come out in the beginning of 2021 which i think could be plausible since FC 5 was Ubi's best selling game of this generation because the game had almost no competition on it's march release.

FC6 will be on PS5, PS4, XB1, XBSX/S and PC.
