Thoughts on next gen console sales?

Before I begin I would like to say this is not a generalised question and is mainly directed toward early sales, eg preorders and first month sales.

This time around with next gen I really don’t feel that people are incentivised to purchase the new consoles, at the beginning anyway. Ponder this there really isn’t an incentive games wise to purchase the new consoles. The new specs won’t cut it either as there is no point to purchasing a console with immense capabilities for there’s nothing to show it off on.

In terms of relativity people haven’t long since purchased the PS4 pro, Xbox one X and Xbox one S. Not too mention 4K TVs and monitors. Coupling the consoles plus 8k capable display systems it could easily become over $1000 for the new kit. And I personally feel people aren’t really willing early on to pay that, without an incentive.

You also have the issue that occurred with current gen on release, that these second hand stores will purchase large quantities of consoles include a bundle and ramp up the price. Making it next to impossible to purchase one of these consoles early on if you don’t preorder.

Please lmk what you think of this, again this isn’t generalised this is aimed at early on sales.
