As of January 2020, the PS5 was more powerful than the XBox Series X. (Verified insider)

https://mobile.twitter.com/wccftechdotcom/status/1223404988048658432?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1223404988048658432&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2F2%2Ftwitter.min.html%231223404988048658432

Basically, a verified poster on Resetera who is a game developer, said the PS5 is more powerful than the Series X as of January 2020. However, he did say that dev kits aren't final so that could still change.

Fun times...

[NEXT TOMB RAIDER GAME] News and Info

There was another post with information in regards to several titles in development (or being considered for development) at Square Enix.

Among these titles was a new entry in the Tomb Raider series. A lot of the information given is directly contradictory to my own source from Square.

  1. The next Tomb Raider game is not in active development. It is in early concept stages and Square has not greenlit anything in regards to a NEW story in the series.

  2. Tomb Raider is coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. The game of the year edition for 2013’s Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider are both coming to the eShop.

  3. “Survivor Trilogy” is currently being remixed for the PS5 and Next Generation XBOX. Due for release in 2021. It will include updated textures, graphical options and performance mode(s) that take advantage of the next generation of consoles.

  4. Remasters/remakes of the original games have been considered and discussed. There are early builds of these games that were worked on before and during Shadow’s development. No further development or work has been made on them for a while. However, it is constantly discussed and considered due to the series’ impending Anniversary.

That is all,

Cheers.

How many leaks/rumors from this sub has turned out to be true?

Hello, hope you're all enjoying your Friday!

I apologize if any similar posts has been made in the past, and/or if this isn't the place to ask this question, and if it is I hope you don't mind it too much.

I joined this subreddit about a month ago and since then I've seen quite a lot of other people joining it as well. Yesterday we had the user '0006' share A LOT of information about Square Enix and the future of the company (probably too much to be true) and then today apparently Jason Schreier confirmed it was fake.

This got me wondering, and I'm sure many others may be curious as well since this sub has existed for a couple of years now, what leaks/rumors from this subreddit has actually turned out to be true?

If you can recall anything like game announcements, studio acquisitions, hardware details or any information at all being posted to here and then turning out to be true I would really appreciate if you could share it!

Anything is more than welcomed, but ideally I'm looking for more "specific" leaks/rumors. Anyone can come in here and say something like "Ubisoft is making Far Cry 6", you can't really prove weather it's a fake or legit leaker, but even if it turns out to be true it's something that's easy to predict,

so anything more specific like someone sharing images, videos, or just information/details that would be very unlikely that someone who's not actually a leaker would accurately predict would be great!

Again I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I would really appreciate the help. :-)

PS5 reveal and pre-order details [RUMOR]

Hey Guys, i know i'm not Jason Schreier or Nibellion, but i work as a journalist and editor of a vehicle here in Brazil. Recently, our website - Combo Infinito - received some information regarding the PS5 announcement and its pre-order.

Our sources are reliable, but for legal reasons, we were asked to keep them confidential. Therefore, we cannot reveal where we got such details from.

Our sources claim that the PS5 will be revealed after the 15th of February (no date was mentioned), and has never been cited for the 5th - as other rumors have suggested. This would be due to other investor meetings that Sony will hold early next month. In addition, the pre-order is expected to start around March. According to what we were told, Sony has already changed the date of the event and the pre-order twice.

Finally, we will keep the matter as a rumor until some news is officially released.

More details are on the link below (unfortunately, the text is in Portuguese, but feel free to ask me something I might be able to answer)

The truth about Gta VI

Realistically I think at this this point it is evident that we won’t be seeing Gta VI until sometime in 2022 most likely set for a spring release delayed until fall, the countless fake leaks and rumours only add to the frustration surrounding this game and the fact that people believe in these supposed leaks is ridiculous.

I feel like people are grasping onto minuscule irrelevant points in hopes it somehow relates to Gta VI however being completely honest we’ve only had 2-3 credible bits of info for this title. The constant click baiting is also frustrating as it just shows lack of ingenuity imo.

The likelihood of the game being announced at an event is also most likely not going to occur, for both Gta V and RDR2 R* handled the marketing on their own and did not require piggy backing off an event to successfully market the releases. This surely should be evidence enough, I am fully aware that if they decided to go off the beaten track and stray away from past marketing formats they would absolutely get away with it just on the basis of how anticipated this game is.

Also on the matter of the game releasing this year as a timed exclusive is ridiculous to say the least, Sony could not afford or would want to pay the massive bill for the lack of copy sales or micro transactions lost on Microsoft’s behalf, nor would R* allow this to occur. Why would they also want to create a scaled down version for current gen?

Despite the rant Gta VI is shaping up to be an incredible game and we will have to wait and see what the near future has install announcement wise.

OsirusBlack dropping more details about PS5/XSX (January 31st)...

Member of NeoGaf, OsirusBlack, is possibly a legitimate insider. His status is certainly debatable but his leaks are far more interesting than your typical 4chan leak. Here's what he has to say...

"These are FACTS

Gamestop has a temp SKU number for the PS5 its listed in the system NOW at a retail of $499:99. Their is also a SKU for SeX which is LOWER than the PS5 by $50:00 don't know why don't ask its in their and they are both temps. I have also KNOW some stores have jumped the gun and taken advanced preorders at these prices. Their is also a SKU for RE8, GodFall, Assassins Creed, (does not say ragnarok or kingdom) hell blade 2,2k21 and broken filter no idea what it is its listed under ps5 titles and not accessories. Accessories are priced way the fuck too high but again everything in the system at the moment is temporary. PS5 controllers are listed at $69:99 (there is no way that's right) and SeX controllers are $10 less. Their is a PS5 camera listed but it's $129:99 I didn't see one for SeX.

This is what I was TOLD This is from a multi platform developer,"Neither system is less than 10, Period!" how is that for no riddles."

Sabi Hints at Multiple Wii U Ports for Switch

The first tweet:

Well hey, people who didn’t get a Wii U will certainly like some of the thingS coming.

They emphasized the ‘s’ in thingS, so multiple ports.

When someone asked about Mario 3D Land, Sabi replied:

The whole world is better than just a bit of land 😌

Since the tweet asking 3D land surely meant to be asking about 3D World, this is further confirmation/clarification about 3D World.

They also reconfirm MPT (Metroid Prime Trilogy I’m assuming), as well as the holiday title for this year being from a franchise that people may not be expecting.

I’m sure nobody is surprised about more ports, but Sabi has been pretty credible in the past so I’m inclined to believe it’s true.

Hi redditors, because of the amount of responses I got from previous post I will be doing a Q & A discussion for the future of final fantasy, other square enix titles such as 'Marvel's Avengers', and future upcoming titles.

Feel free to ask anything you want to know, please note I can not 'confirm' anything just 'rumors' if you know what I mean for legal reasons.

Sources in Square Enix are telling me that they are in early development of remaking 8 and 9 for the PS5. If final fantasy 7 performs well with critics and sales.

Great news since 7 looks great and in doubt it will sell and perform well for critics and gamers alike. Source is a game designer who worked on final fantasy 7 for about 6 years and has told me everything from new bosses to new missions.

Latest PS5 rumor claims it performs better than Xbox Series X, but we don't believe it

Source 1

Source 2: Twitter

Better performance but lesser GPU? We don't think so

We may not know exactly what's under the hood of the PS5, but a new rumor is already suggesting that Sony's next-generation console will have better overall performance than the Xbox Series X. But we're not convinced.

The rumor comes via industry insider Tidux on Twitter, who claims that, while the CPU of the PS5 and Series X will be equal, the PS5 will have more RAM and a better SSD - making its performance better than Microsoft's next-gen console.

However, there's some inconsistency to this claim, as the Series X apparently has a better GPU, which is the key factor in any hardware's performance.

Tidux @Tidux

CPU PS5 = XSX

GPU PS5 < XSX (less the 1TF)

RAM PS5 > XSX (BW and size)

SSD PS5 > XSX (Speed and size)

Performance PS5 > XSX

This is what info i have gathered over the last few weeks. Final dev kits for PS5 are out.

While Tidux has previously leaked PlayStation information correctly (such as the PS4's UI and features), to us, this new claim doesn't add up.

On the surface the assertion that the PS5 will be more powerful than the Xbox Series X stands up, after all there are two specs, SSD and RAM that are 'better'. However, upon closer scrutiny this claim kind of falls apart.

The leak suggests that the SSD is faster and more capacious on the PS5 than the Xbox Series X, and while that's definitely a cool feature, in our experience it doesn't make a huge difference in gaming. It might shave off a fraction of a second in loading times.

RAM bandwidth, which is suggested to be faster on the PS5, could make a pretty significant difference, but because both consoles are going to be running off of the same graphics and processing architecture, we wouldn't put much stock in that actually being the case. Likely, even if the PS5 does have more memory bandwidth, it would be so insignificant that it simply wouldn't matter at the end of the day.

And, the GPU is the most important factor here. Right now graphics horsepower is absolutely the most important factor when it comes to gaming performance. We obviously haven't been able to actually test any next-generation games ourselves, but we doubt that the GPU will stop being the most important aspect. Even in the face of less memory and a slower SSD, if the Xbox Series X is packing a stronger GPU, it will be potentially more powerful than the PS5.

Tidux does clarify that the difference in GPU performance is less than 1 teraflop. But, at least when it comes to FP32 (floating point 32-bit) performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super are just 0.73 teraflops apart, and the latter is around 16% faster. The RTX 2060 Super does have more memory bandwidth, to be fair. We still think that throwing around teraflops is a pretty awful way to measure GPU performance either way.

At the end of the day, we won't know how powerful the PS5 and Xbox X Series will be until they're actually in our hands. Because both consoles will be running off of the same AMD Navi and Zen architectures, it's unlikely there's going to be a huge disparity in performance either way, and at the start of the generation at least, games will be pretty indistinguishable between the two consoles.

We should hopefully know more soon (Image credit: N/A) With the PS5 reveal rumored to take place in the near future, we should soon get a better idea of how accurate this information actually is. Although, we're not quite sure when Microsoft will show its hand spec-wise - maybe at E3 2020?

Until then, we can only really speculate on potential specs for the PS5 and Xbox Series X and how they will compare. Either way, we're expecting both to be absolute powerhouses.

Elden Ring 2020

-TBA- FEBRUARY 3rd 9 A.M. PT

RELEASE: NOVEMBER 16TH 2020

PLATFORMS: PS4 & XBOX ONE

 PC RELEASE TBD

Xbox two consoles strategy could backfire

If it's true we're getting two Xboxes, a less powerful cheaper option and a powerful expensive one, this could potentially backfire and the reason would be microeconomics 101.

There would be three options on the market: xbox, ps5, xbox. Do you know how companies often offer three options of the same product, a cheaper, a good deal, and a expensive one, so you're forced to pick the deal?

That could happen here. For most people, ps and xbox and basically the same product, and they will just pick the better deal. If we have three consoles and xbox is both the cheaper and expensive options, a lot of people will pick the good deal, and that would be the ps5.

What do you think?

PS5 & Xbox Series X Early Specs, Features Info Leak Reveal! No PS5 Reveal Event In February! Please Read The 1st Paragraph...

OK, I won’t reveal my identity at all nor the company I work in, but I’m someone working on a new IP for Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, I just created this new Reddit account just to dump all this info before inevitably all this gets posted by VG Leaks, maybe Kotaku and the likes in the next few days, maybe even tomorrow, understand that the specifications that I’m gonna post right now are NEAR FINAL specifications from both console manufacturers, so with all that out of the way, I’m gonna fill you guys and girls with all the info!

Let’s start with the PlayStation 5:

  1. GPU will be 56 Compute Units, 64 ROPs, clocked @ 1.76 GHz, 12.61 Navi-based RDNA TeraFlops with HW ray tracing. Supposedly Sony wants to boast “3 times the power of PS4 Pro” with the TF number alone while not taking the efficiency of AMD’s latest RDNA architecture into account, kinda like Microsoft’s messaging.
  2. CPU will be 8 cores and 16 threads clocked @ 3.2 GHz.
  3. RAM will be 16 GB GDDR6 this time with 3GB for the OS and 13 for the game to work with.
  4. NVMe Solid State Drive is the fastest SSD we’ve ever seen, much faster than Xbox Series X’s SSD.
  5. Backwards Compatible with all of the PS4 games, don’t know if it will support PS1/PS2/PS3 games.

Now for the Xbox Series X:

  1. GPU will be 52 Compute Units, 64 ROPs, clocked @ 1.85 GHz, 12.31 Navi-based RDNA TeraFlops with HW ray tracing.
  2. CPU will be 8 cores and 16 threads clocked @ 3.5 GHz.
  3. RAM will be 16 GB GDDR6 with 3 GB for OS and 13 GB for the games.
  4. Very fast NVMe SSD faster than almost every SSD out there, but still slower than some of the fastest and slower than PS5’s SSD.
  5. Backwards Compatible with all Xbox One, Xbox 360 and some Original Xbox games.

Now as for the PlayStation 5 reveal, it won’t take place in February, look for a State of Play where they can show some new demos of games running on the PS5 and maybe some detailed specs.

Both consoles are extremely powerful and we are very delighted to be working with such machines that will truly deliver full next generation experiences.

That’s all from me, good bye!

Maybe GTA 6 map leak

Konami Has Confirmed They Are Still Considering Silent Hill

In the latest case of franchises that we assumed had been laid to rest, Konami has confirmed in light of recent reports that they are still considering the Silent Hill franchise. This revelation comes five years after the departure of Hideo Kojima from Konami and the fallout that ensued, resulting in the cancellation of Silent Hills in 2015. It was widely assumed that after the death of the longstanding partnership between Konami and Kojima, Silent Hill as a series would end up meeting the same fate.

We haven’t seen a Silent Hill game since Silent Hill: Downpour in 2012, with PC gamers having to look as far back as 2009 when Silent Hill: Homecoming was released on the platform. Now it sounds like if rumors are correct, we will be treated to not only a reboot of the series, but also a more narrative and decision driven game, possibly similar to what we saw with Until Dawn.

What started as a series of tweets from Twitter tipster @AestheticGamer1 on January 20 has since been somewhat confirmed by publisher Konami, who responded to PCGamesN that they were still “considering ways to provide the next title.” One of the games is allegedly going to be a “soft-reboot” of the franchise, with the other game following the more narrative driven decision-based structure of games such as the Telltale Series, or Man of Medan.

The initial leak stemmed from Konami reaching out to developers to pitch the idea, but there has been no further confirmation of who Konami may be interested in partnering with. If the tweets are accurate, these discussions have been ongoing for at least two years now, which means that there is a chance that one — or both — of these games are already in development.

While we can be more than certain we won’t be seeing a revival of the Konami-Kojima romance, artist Masahiro Ito has confirmed that he is also working on a new project currently. Ito worked on Team Silent initially as the creature designer for the first Silent Hill and then was the art director for the following two sequels. In 2012 Ito announced he was going to be working on Silent Hills, it’s worth noting in his tweet he specifically mentioned that he hoped his new project “won’t be cancelled.” I’m not one for speculation, but it seems possible that these announcements have some correlation.

New Silent Hill confirmed by Konami

After the rumors from Dusk Golem, Konami talked to PCGamesN and cited that it is "considering ways to bring the next title". The company also did not deny rumors about the two games mentioned by the insider.

Since they mentioned a new title, it looks like SIlent Hill’s return is already set

This kind of confirms the development of a new game and suggests other news later this year.

PS5 Startup leaked (found in bfv sub)

4chan rumor concerning PS5 launch

http://boards.4channel.org/v/thread/494111597

probably bullshit but might be fun to share

Fortnite map leak may suggest changes are coming to Steamy Stacks and Slurpy Swamp

Leaked images claim to reveal the new map coming to Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2

A new Fortnite leak has surfaced online that may reveal the new map coming to Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2. The "leaked images" were first pointed out by YouTuber iOllek. As with any leak this could very well be fake, but there's already some debate surrounding whether these images are the real deal or not.

The blurry leaked image shows the current Fortnite map introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 with a few alterations. The biggest difference shows a change to Steamy Stacks - one of the most notable new areas on the Battle Royale landscape. Steamy Stacks, the big power plant in the north-east corner of the map, appears to have blown and purple smoke now clouds over the plant.

Slurpy Swamp also appears to be covered in a sea of Slurpy blue, which might suggest something has happened to the Slurp Juice factory and the beverage may have overspilled across the entire area.

Blurry stills also surfaced in the leak which claim to be from an upcoming trailer and appear to show Fortnite characters in Season 1 skins looking pretty concerned about something, with a purple haze covering the images. Of course this is just conjecture, but if these images are legitimate and the map is real, you could naturally link the the purple colour in the stills with whatever may have happened at Steamy Stacks to cause the purple fog.

The current season has been running since October last year, making it one of the longest running seasons in Fortnite. It was recently delayed once again after Epic posted the news that the next 11.50 up would be moving Fortnite to Unreal Engine's Chaos physics system.

While the blurry images might not be anything at all, the changes do seem to go in line with changes to maps in the past. Usually between seasons, Epic tends to make changes to current areas that tie into events, so it's not such an outlandish concept that some event alters two prominent areas on the map like Steamy Stacks or Slurpy Swamps.

Getting stuck into the Battle Royale yourself? Here are all the Fortnite tips you need to get that coveted Victory Royale.

Rumour- playstation 5 retail until ships with 8tf, Dev kit with 9.2. No major first party games at launch.

Popular rumour I've seen from Twitter today. I'm in no way confirming these myself, but it seems to allign with the GitHub leak and the leaked devkit specs from a year or so ago. Wondering what others opinions on it.

Personally I feel it could be possible, with MS rumoured to have 2 Xbox coming, Series X at 12tf and a lesser one at about 6. 8 seems like a reasonable and respectable number for Sony to undercut MS on price in year one sales.

Haven’t been following this sub closely so don’t kill me if this has already been asked but any news on Bully 2?

Will it ever happen?

"Grand Theft Auto 6" is in development since 2018

This message comes directly from a Rockstar Games employee.

  • To avoid confusion with "GTA IV", the marketing department of Rockstar North has decided to call the game "GTA 6" instead of "GTA VI".

  • The latest tax news/rumors are related to Grand Theft Auto 6 and partly for Red Dead Redemption 2.

  • The game will be set in Vice City during the late 80s (story mode) and late 90s (GTA Online) surrounded by some big islands based on Cuba and Bogota.

  • It is possible to transfer your current GTA Online character to GTA 6 Online. So that besides of your houses, clubs excetera your points, stuff and money won't be lost in GTA 6 Online. A very revolutionary and cool detail is that your character from GTA 5 online can fly from Los Santos to GTA 6 Online, and vice versa when you like to go back to San Andreas again. The two maps will pop-up when you fly to the Horizon of the sea. This detail will only work if you have download GTA 5 already on your console.

  • The map is like 3 times the size of GTA V, with a lot of water in between the map. A lot of this will be used during missions.

  • The graphics are amazing. Almost like real life.

  • The storymode will be a bit shorter than GTA V, but very exciting. *The story is drug related.

  • There will be an updated weather systeem, sort of like we know in Red Dead Redemption 2.

  • Rockstar Games has scheduled Grand Theft Auto 6 for october 2021 ( Playstation 5, Xbox) and 2022 (PC).

Details on a next generation title from Ubisoft.

I can't be overly specific but here are the small details.

It's a period-piece.

The map is the largest of it's kind designed by Ubisoft, over 3X the size and scale of their previous period-piece record holder AC: Odyssey.

Weaponry is heavily customizable, mainly focused around ranged combat via the use of bows, slingshots, catapults, etc.

The environmental traversal is truly next generation, Breath of The Wild was a key inspiration as you could climb on any surface, this tries to do the same but with far more detail.

Fishing is a key part of the game, there are over 30 different types and varieties of marine life that the player can catch and cook that offer different benefits.

The weather system is the most advanced of any Ubisoft game, dynamic storms can effect the environment of the games world in a multitude of ways. Environmental effects like fire, wind, etc spread dynamically ala RDR2 or BOTW and have impacts on the game's world.

There is no current release date.

Confirmation of Rockstar working on a Next-Gen title. Possible Gta 6 development.

https://www.rockstargames.com/careers/openings

Rockstar North, Toronto and San Diego all have multiple job listings which point towards the possible development of Gta 6. Some out-right confirming the development of next-generation games within their studios.

http://imgur.com/gallery/6MGwbR5

"Rockstar Toronto is seeking a senior graphics programmer to help breathe life, realism and fun into our next-generation games."

"Work with others to expand our next-generation graphics pipeline including advanced lighting and rendering techniques, and special effects"

Additional information found on listings.

"An obsessive eye for detail and drapery in respect of garments of all types, and an acute awareness of how fabrics and materials age and degrade over time."

"looking for someone with a deep appreciation of the history and cultural importance which clothing plays in society; from past eras to modern, global street styles and trends."

"At least one shipped console or PC title; preferably on the Xbox and/or Playstation consoles." -This could disprove the rumour of Gta 6 being a ps5 timed exclusive, but could prove that it won't launch on pc at release.

I will add more tid-bits as they are found, please let me know if you can spot any more interesting notes within the listings.

SPECULATION

So Im not sure that this is news to most, but it seems like this all but officially confirms the existence of gta 6 and it's development, or at minimum, another great rockstar game. Personally, I think a medieval game from them could be phenomenal.

Now I could be wrong here, but I do recall Rockstar north handing development over to Toronto and San Diego studios to help with RDR2 as it was nearing completion, the last 2 years I think. Going from this I'd believe it was set for a 2022/23 release year.

Thoughts on all this?

A consolidation on all we actually know about GTA 6

This is from a proper insider's that arent one hit wonders.

1: GTA6 went into proper production, early 2016. Gunrunning was supposed to be the final DLC for GTA online but because of its success they continued. (Via Yan. The biggest R* insider with a proven track record)

2: there is no Bully 2 in proper development. Bully 2 was in and out of development and now its just stagnant.

3: there is no medieval game. R* purchased a studio that was doing a medieval game and merged them into R* India.

4: GTA 6 is rumored to be set in Vice City, every leak says this so there must be some sort of correlation.

Anything else on this sub should he taken w a grain of salt

Project Americas (Grand Theft Auto VI)

Hey guys. You have no reason to believe me, but I'm gonna post it here anyway. So to start off, I was a qa tester for Rockstar Games for 4 years until they had their layoff period (Which I was apart of). So since I'm no longer binded by an NDA, I'll tell you what I was apart of leading up to Project Americas. In my 4 years of working for Rockstar San Diego, I was qa testing Red Dead Redemption 2, Untitled medieval game, and finally the sixth installment of the Grand Theft Auto series. Now I'm going to be discussing parts that I played and broke, specifically Grand Theft Auto 6. I helped the team work to crack down on bugs in the gameplay, world, and the second mission (The first was done by another tester which I will not name). So the gameplay is currently shit. Overuse of mechanics which slowed the the gameplay down by large amount. Say rdr2's gameplay with 200% extra mechanics. I don't wanna say anything about the mission I bugtested since spoilers are a thing, and another insider layed down everything in the game world.

EA Maxis, the developers of The Sim's franchise, are currently working on a new unannounced IP.

A New IP is in the works with job listings referencing so all over EA Maxis' website.

https://www.ea.com/careers/careers-overview/worldwide-studios/maxis

A few Bits taking from the listings:

"Maxis in Austin, Texas is looking for a Senior Character Artist to join our successful development team working on a new IP." .

"Lead our art team in the creation of a new, unannounced title"

"We are gearing up for our next big production"

"Experienced at establishing art vision and guidelines, preferable on new IPs"

"collaborating with others to develop excellent user experiences for new IP"

What could this new IP be?

"Collaborate closely with Art, Design, & Animation teams to create beautiful effects that offer creative solutions to design challenges, add life to the game world, and create wow moments for the users."

"stylized interpretations of real-world visual effects following our game’s art direction".

"Experience launching a live service."

"Experience producing effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions."

"Experience with run-time dynamic systems for physics-based animation, impact interactions, destruction, water, cloth & hair sim, etc."

"Extend the game's aesthetic vision beyond core game visuals to cohesively support UI/UX, Live Services and marketing considerations"

SPECULATION

I honestly don't have much of an idea on what it could be. Judging only from the fire and smoke VFX mention, My guess is it's going to be a game that is very much like the Sims, possibly more like the castaway variants. Not sure why they wouldn't use The Sims franchise name for that.

They seem to be going for a strong visual art direction and there's mention of live services (could be MMO?).

The bit that sounds most eye-brow raising though is physics based animations and destructable environments, explosions etc. It sounds completely different to Maxis usual games. I really do wonder what could be in the works?

*A few weeks back EA announced they needed play testers for an unannounced Sims game. It could either be heavily tied to the Sims franchise, or EA could just be calling the fifth game in the series a new IP.

Thoughts on this?

God Of War 2/Legendz to launch along side Ps5

Personally I don't see God Of War 2 launching along side the PS5 just two years after the last one and Legendz could possibly but unclear how long it has been in development. Santa Monica is going to be at the February PS5 Event to possibly unveil God Of War 2/Legendz to launch along side the P$5. 4chan rumour (take with grain salt) For Honor 2 is next gen exclusive and coming 2021

http://boards.4channel.org/v/thread/493868810

ust gonna spill beans and say it , For Honor 2

game is still far away 1.5 years at minimum so wanted to let some info because why not its not gonna hurt anyone

Game is full next gen exclusive title , why you might ask not cross gen its pretty simple developing for honor we had lots of troubles with current gen CPUs. Especially AI of battlefield and user controlled characters when they drop out , sync out were horrible and we had to drop lots of ideas we implemented in our PC debug/development build. For Honor release version is much different game then while it was developing effectively we have dumbed down most of game ideas and AI,physics in order to make it work.

One example was huge army clash battle we had in first game , developing that took 2 years(with it's tool along it) . We had a very functional prototype but console CPU didnt cut it , we had removed all collusion info and lots of things (like AI in horde battles update its logic much later compared to AI controlled hero character) and lots of other things like path strategy when they are lost etc...

Main reason were for these lack of memory power and low power of CPU threads.

Thank god higher ends OK'ed a next gen exclusive game so its not bound to bs like this.
So talk about For Honor 2 and its features along with some next gen tidbits(not gonna spoil lot since i'm here to talk about our game instead)

It is coming PC/PS5/Xbox Series
Our internal release window is Summer of 2021 , that is likely gonna be it if no huge fuck ups or marketing demands for fall release or someshit.

It will have campaign modes like Total War games you have story missions that are somewhat historic and not just arena battle like old game. We will support it along with multiplayer updates in years.

One of the new faction/hero we added is Ottoman Janissaries , they are less agile than a ninja but more durable. In this game each hero will have types so you will enjoy that faction while suiting play style. Heavy characters , speed and normal character(mix of both) and are all unique for most time.

Since we are building from our heroes and assets of FH1 development was relatively easy , our tools made for first game are amazing and we pretty much took it to next level.

AI gonna be mindblowing , not in the sense of they will kill you always but they will do mindblowing shit you would assume you were playing against actual teams with coordinated etc. No machine learning or anything classic path planning algorithms and graphs are finally viable on next gen machines. Because SSDs are super fast no need to think compression techniques and other bs to stream data , its just seamless so much effort took away its super good. And you will see effects of it immediately. So fucking much memory available to us.

Thats it from me on game you will see when its revealed this year either at E3 or later. Not gonna revealed at any upcoming event of Sony/MS afaik.

on next gen i can say they are pretty much same and thats good. PS5 SSD is kinda faster but i assume thats for some OS feature that is not available to us currently. No worries they are light years of ahead any game on PC or any other machines .

Simple reason we never design games to PC hardware if we did oh boy console and PC versions would like PC vs Wii in 2013.

Its imposssible to make different versions due how hard to 2 different game essentially , testing & quality control etc its impossible considering how less PC versions for most of time sells.

thats it from me , i likely return to thread to read replies but not likely post another thing

good days waiting for us this year

Techland move office and close publishing arm, possibly indicating acquisition.

https://twitter.com/TechlandGames/status/1220730578103947265

This all just seems mighty suspicious to me. We know Xbox has been on the look for a Polish studio, Dying light 2 suddenly delayed out of nowhere, they closed their publishing arm and now this, an upgrade to a huge office. Its almost like they got a sudden influx of money...

Also, fun fact which may or may not be related, Techland have only published 1 game, and it was a game made by InXile, a studio now part of XGS.

New IPs Launching in 2020 Destined to Become Major Game Series

5 New IPs Launching in 2020 Destined to Become Major Game Series

2020 promises to be an explosive year for the gaming industry. Not only is the next console generation fast approaching, but there’s also a number of hotly anticipated major releases scheduled to launch — and for once, they aren’t all sequels! Here, we’re going to discuss new IPs we think have a big chance at becoming the next big video game franchises and why.

Cyberpunk 2077

A no brainer to kick things off — Cyberpunk 2077 is already being tipped to become one of 2020’s best-selling games, which is obviously first and foremost paramount to the likelihood of becoming a series. But Cyberpunk 2077’s destiny as a series is secured as a result of more than just its likely commercial success.

Last year during a quarterly earnings call, developer CD Projekt Red outlined its intentions to adopt a dual franchise studio model. Meaning, in the same vein as, say, BioWare with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, the Polish studio is looking toward both its popular The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 to drive revenue going forward.

So the writing is on the wall: unless Cyberpunk 2077 completely bombs it’s absolutely going to get a sequel and could become one of the gaming industry’s marquee franchises.

Gods and Monsters

We know what you’re thinking: How can Gods and Monsters be a likely candidate for a game most likely to become a successful series when we’ve not seen a scrap of gameplay yet? Well, you’d be right in thinking we’re making a big presumption, but you need only to look at history to determine that Gods and Monsters potentially has a big future.

For starters, its concept and design choices are all very in-vogue; a stylized open-world RPG based on famous ancient mythology ticks several important boxes.

Indeed, we’ve seen Nintendo’s Breath of the Wild earn acclaim for a similar art-direction, which more than likely inspired Gods and Monsters’ aesthetic.

What’s more, open-world games are always big sellers, and the team working on the game’s development is the same that brought us Assassin’s Creed: Origins — that is to say, a hugely experienced one that has demonstrated an ability to produce excellent sandbox experiences.

That brings us to our final point: Ubisoft is developing Gods and Monsters, a company with a track record of turning successful games into series. Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon — if Gods and Monsters sells well, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s getting a sequel.

Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers is, of course, already a mega-franchise after years of beloved comics and a movie saga that has become a pop-culture phenomenon. But here we’re talking specifically about Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming action game, which is looking to piggyback on the success of Marvel’s popularity and become the next hot superhero game since PS4 exclusive Spider-Man.

Despite the divisive appearance of its characters –which upset fans for not looking as they do in the movies– and a recently announced delay, we think there’s still every chance that Avengers is destined to go on and become a hallmark series of games for Square Enix.

After all, it would be in keeping with the “Marvel connected universe” design premise, right? Surely Square Enix is looking to build on what it hopes is a successful first Avengers game with a bunch of sequels that introduce new storylines and characters?

It only stands to reason that major players of the video game industry will look to emulate the same strategy as their film counterparts.

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima appears to have it all — an intriguing story and setting, utterly gorgeous graphics, and a development team with a proven track record of producing brilliant gameplay. And it’s that last point that has us here at Twinfinite so excited: developer Sucker Punch is a master at designing games with superb combat and traversal.

The Infamous series for which Sucker Punch is best known really did play exceptionally well. While its last effort, Second Son, didn’t quite hit the highs of the original two games in terms of a compelling story and characters, it certainly didn’t drop the ball in the gameplay department. Few other sandboxes feel good to traverse around as Second Son’s Seattle.

So we’re expecting big things from Ghost of Tsushima, and we’re confident Sucker Punch is going to deliver. With Infamous seemingly on ice, we’re tipping Ghost of Tsushima to become the developer’s next major IP and one that’ll go on to become a series.

Godfall

Announced during The Game Awards 2019, Godfall is among the first confirmed next-generation games. Both the reveal trailer and a subsequent gameplay leak gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect, but given that developer Counterplay Games is a relative newcomer, we’ll admit that Godfall is the biggest wildcard entry on our list.

Our justification for its inclusion is almost entirely as a result of it being positioned as a launch game. If Godfall arrives on time, in tandem with the next generation, and both looks and runs as capably as we imagine it will, its commercial success is all but guaranteed. Consumers will be looking for tech demos and Godfall might prove perfect to showcase the power of PS5 and Xbox Series X.

All the better, of course, if Godfall plays well, and this is perhaps what will truly determine whether it has a future. We know it’s being designed as a live-service multiplayer experience, so expansions, events, and everything else will see it stick around for some time. But if Godfall establishes itself with a big following, a sequel is inevitable eventually.

RDR2 For switch

Anyone know if this was ever debunked? Only thing I heard was a listing that got leaked. If im in the wrong sub to ask this im sorry. Any details would be appreciated Thanks :)

Will there be a new Mirror's Edge game, or is the series dead?

I don't like to beg for answers or exclusive information, but Mirror's Edge is an exception and close to my heart and one of my favorite gam3 series. I understand that Mirror's Edge is more than likely dead, but I want to ask if any insiders or anything similar have heard or know anything. Catalyst sold beyond EA's expectations and made a profit, but EA wasn't expecting it to make alot of money anyway.

War on gaming piracy

From what I heard that when coders were going through a classic super mario game from the wii I store they found that the game had been ripped from an emulation website. This means at the Nintendo it was either more cost effective to download from a pirated gaming website or they had misplaced the og super mario game from snes. Not long after this event they ended up suing an emulation website for piracy.

So with gaming piracy becoming advanced to the point that Nintendo switch has an emulator. The entire gaming industry have been trying to combat it for a while and are still failing. As much as I understand that we can't afford to bye and experience every game to come out so having the option to play these games for free does help a lot of people out.

However I do feel that game creators need the money due to how many people are involved in game design. It's at the point where games aren't being made properly due to funds depleting and pressure C.O.O's or higher management to release games early and place unfinished content in the DLC section.

CURRENT SOLUTION these Netflix streaming styled game passes we are currently seeing are a way of capitalising on games that people are downloading for free such as older generation games that Xbox and playstation refused to include in backwards compatibility. This pay wall placed behind OG games doesn't really entice customers to go and purchase playstation or game pass due to it already being free and most emulators run games more smoothly than console game. Enhanced graphics options, increased GPs. What can these game developers do?

THE PREFECT SOLUTION: If you can't beat them join them. In order to defeat your competition you must either be providing a service that no one else can. This means the best option for console is offer the og games as part of their current online subscription fee, rather than an additional charge on top of the online charge of Nintendo online or ps plus. Of course online fee would go up. But people want to play online more than anything plus it creates an added incentive. So playstation should merge ps now with ps plus

Rumor: Sony to acquire kojima productions and help him develop a new horror franchise.

Knights of the Old Republic Remake Might Be Back in the Cards

This article states that EA is working on some sort of "reimagination" of Knights of the Old Republic.

In addition, the author is also talking about a bunch of other Star Wars projects that are in development right now at EA. To be more specific:

So we might either be getting some big Star Wars reveals at E3 or (as the author states) there is also a chance that EA might do their own “Star Wars Event” reveal for some of the stuff they’re working on.

Mafia IV - Sin of City Worldwide Reveal Trailer

Disney to Sell Fox Video Game Division to Scopely

The company is said to be selling the FoxNext video game development studio to the Culver City-based mobile game developer.

The Walt Disney Company continues to “de-Fox” its holdings.

The company is selling the FoxNext video game development studio, including Aftershock LA Studios and Cold Iron Studios, to Scopely, the Culver City-based mobile game developer.

Terms of the agreement were not immediately available, but U.S. regulators signed off on the deal this month, according to a Hart-Scott-Rodino Act notice published by the Federal Trade Commission. In October, Scopely announced that it had raised $200 million in strategic financing "to accelerate the company’s M&A and investment strategy." The new funding round valued the company at $1.7 billion.

“I’m extremely proud of what our talented team at FoxNext Games has built and accomplished in just a few years, and look forward to joining forces with the impressive team at Scopely, who have a well-deserved reputation as one of the preeminent companies in the free-to-play games arena,” said Aaron Loeb, FoxNext Games President.

LionTree Advisors is acting as financial adviser to Disney, with Moelis & Company acting as financial adviser to Scopely.

Disney put FoxNext on the market last fall, after acquiring it with the rest of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets in March. The company has since removed the Fox name from its film studios, now called 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. It also sold off the former Fox regional sports networks as part of an agreement with the Department of Justice.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said early last year that the company was moving away from developing games in-house, preferring to license its IP to established outside studios. The deal to divest the Fox gaming studios to Scopely furthers that strategic goal.

Scopely, best known for its mobile game Star Trek: Fleet Command, passed $1 billion in revenue last year. The company also develops games based on other entertainment IP, including The Walking Dead, Wheel of Fortune and the WWE. FoxNext currently has games under development based on the Avatar and Alien franchises.

The acquisition does not include the separate portfolio of Fox IP licensed games titles, which will continue to be a part of Disney’s licensed games business.

Last September, Scopely hired Justin Scarpone from Disney's Asia Games division to lead its own efforts in the region.

[RUMOR] Two different types of Silent Hill games in the works, at least one likely to be revealed this year

This rumor comes from DuskGolem who is apparently a somewhat credible leaker. He claims that apparently a couple years ago, Konami reached out to devs for Silent Hill pitches, which has resulted in two SH games being made.

One is a soft reboot of the franchise and the other is an episodic narrative-based game ala Telltale games/Until Dawn.

Here are his tweets on the matter:

Doom eternal switch version delay

It’s coming out a bit later than the game is on current consoles and PC, and really that’s just because we want to finish the game on those platforms and then give Panic Button – our partner on it – the time they need to really pull those refinements into the Switch version. It’s not going to be a huge delay, but we haven’t announced the launch time frame yet, but they are fantastic partners. They are masters of that platform.

We loved the game on the Switch – the 2016 version. I played through the games so many times, but playing through on the Switch all the way from beginning to end was one of my favorite experiences. To have it handheld and mobile was phenomenal. I think that’s what we’re going to deliver with Doom Eternal in all the same ways that Doom is fantastic on the current-gen platforms… we are very uncompromising in bringing it to Switch, and Panic Button is really on a great path.” -Marty Stratton

Resident Evil, Onimusha, Dino Crisis and Other Capcom IP's on Xbox SX and PS5 [RUMOR]

There are two different rumors, but both related to Capcom.

First, Resident Evil 8 will not be the next game in the franchise, but a totally new project that is not a Remake.

Such information came from Dusk Golem, known to be one of the first to leak the Resident Evil 3 Remake and other information from Capcom. That said, the new game in the franchise may be something totally new and unreleated to previous game, or else, RE Revelations 3, with a stipulated release for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Then he mentions that Capcom is working on new Reboots through RE Engine, and that leads us to the much desired Dino Crisis and a possible remake of Onimusha (considering the Remaster version that Capcom has already delivered).

You can find everything he published on the following link

looks like the next few years will be great for fans of the studio.

New Rocksteady Game and Killer Instinct 2 for Xbox Series X [RUMOR]

On NeoGaf, OsirisBlack suggested that one of Microsoft's new projects will be related to a DC character. Speculation points to the new Rocksteady game (not yet announced), and he suggested something related to Superman.

In addition, he also suggested a new Killer Instinct is coming - by sharing the music of characters selection.

Finally, he says that "Microsoft's E3 will be difficult to overcome"

Osiris was responsible for speculation about the sequel to The Order 1886, and previously he got the PS4 Pro specs right. It looks like he has a certain credibility.

Something that I find logical in the lou2 on pc rumour

The game is set to release on may that's 4 months from now. It's an educated guess that the game is pretty much done and is being polished or tweaked.

The job listing is from 3 months ago link

So why are they hiring programmers so close to release?

GTA 6 development seemingly confirmed by Rockstar's latest tax return

From GamesRadar:

Rockstar North, the British developer renowned for creating the Grand Theft Auto series, may have just confirmed its working on the next series in its open world crime franchise, GTA 6, thanks to detail found in the company's recently published tax returns.

As outlined by TaxWatch UK, Rockstar North filed for a significant increase in its claims for Video Games Tax Relief with HMRC in the UK for 2018/2019. The claims were approved on the basis that its ongoing project is registered as 'Culturally British'; a historic tax requisite that allows video game developers to seek large subsidies for high cost productions with cultural ties to the UK.

Interestingly enough, a trusted Rockstar insider has also recently claimed that Take-Two Interactive, the studio's publisher, has been pushing for a faster and more frequent game release schedule, implying that GTA 6 could be coming as "soon" as GTA 5's Trevor Phillips himself has suggested.

With both PS5 and Xbox Series X primed and ready for release later this year, the concept of a next-gen GTA is certainly enough to dream about for now, but - in the meantime - be sure to follow GamesRadar for all and any Rockstar news as it's announced.

Found this "Xbox E3 Leak"

https://www.reddit.com/user/Porgamerdev/comments/erfmen/xbox_e3_leak/

Yeah, I know here we have another "My friend works at..." but I think this sounds interesting. As always, take it with a grain of salt:

"I have some friends that work at the marketing team at Xbox and they told me that its gonna be a crazy E3. There are 3 big things that Xbox will show off besides the price, date, and lock hart ( coming 2021).

  1. More Studios- They are going to talk about new japan beside the studio that they bought, don't know who it is but my friends hinted that is FromSoftware. Also, they are buying 2 more, one is from Poland(NOT CD PROJECT RED!) the other from Canada.
  2. Exclusivity deals- they are going all-in with this one. They have the marketing and exclusive content from Rocksteady's new game. They also have exclusive content for Cyberpunk 2077 and announcing CDPR next game (Witcher Based). They are also reviling quantic dream's new game with no release date just teaser. That's all I know but they told me they're more than more deal going on with publishers such as Rockstar, Ubisoft, EA and a lot of indie studios.
  3. Launch Titles- The 3 big ones are Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport 8, and Perfect Dark Reboot(made by Rare and The Coalition) ALL COMING AT LAUNCH(Subject to change). Launch Window November-April 2021. Fable (Playground Games) House Of Thieves (Compulsion Game new IP inspired by uncharted and BioShock. Obsidian Entertainment next game (AAA Open world RPG) mix between Skyrim and The Outer Worlds with some new intonations been in development since 2016. That's all the first party now the 3rd party launch. Assassins Creed: Ragnarok February 14th, 2021. Rocksteady new game November 28th. Mafia IV March 3rd. and last but not least GTA VI April 2021. (ALL DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE!!!).

Take all of this with a grain of salt some of it may have been lost in translation meaning my friend could have misinformation but I trust them.

Prince of Persia reboot to be announced soon as a timed PS5 exclusive

Hello! I can't say who I am for obvious reasons. What I can say though, is that a new Prince of Persia is in development at Ubisoft Montréal and it's not called Dark Babylon like some recent "leaks" have said, just Prince of Persia. It will be a reboot of the series and a PS5 timed exclusive. Last I heard, it was set to be announced at E3 2020 and released as a launch title in November but with Sony changing their plans I think it might get announced at their event. The remastered Sands of Time trilogy will be available for free as a Season Pass bonus, although I'm not 100% sure about this. Yuri Lowenthal is reprising his role as the Prince. The wall run sysyem has been revamped and greatly improved. Some puzzles and stages will feature a mix of horizontal and vertical wall run gameplay. There will also be a few familiar faces making special appearences, can't say who. Moreover, there were talks last year to connect Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed as a marketing strategy to increase sales for both franchises. This idea never went further. You might not believe me, but this is all I can say for now.

Hi guys. Please use this thread for content that may not require an individual post, such as requests of potential leaks and rumours to prevent subreddit clutter. We also encourage discussion about the subreddit in general, maybe you have a suggestion for the subreddit? Or a general question, if so feel free to use this thread for that as well.

Left 4 Dead 3 leak turns out to be false

Mario Maker 3 to adopt 3D world building

I work at a completely non-gaming company who cross paths with various folks at Nintendo from an affiliate marketing perspective. One of them I’m quite friendly with. This person works closely with Biz Dev and is privy to a fair bit of Nintendo’s future strat planning.

Anyhow, we were grabbing a few overpriced beers and she disclosed a few little tidbits:

  • MM3 is in development and has been for over a year
  • MM3 does not have a formal platform yet; my source suggested it may target Nintendo’s next generation device
  • I questioned the reasoning for this, and was told it’s not due to performance (they have a 3D builder working well on switch, although very alpha). It’s more than the corp side haven’t made a call on their next release yet.
  • MM3 will feature the ability to build 2D environments within 3D, much like we saw in Odyssey
  • You’ll be able to create entire multi-level games with MM3- think, story, levels, collection of moons/stars/whatever etc.
  • 3 times bigger asset library when compared to MM2, principally due to all of the Odyssey assets available
  • A number of the MM3 devs have been “borrowed” for the Odyssey sequel project as Nintendo wants to release that first and it was struggling behind schedule a little. Unknown impact on MM3 progression.

That’s it for now folks.

PS5 devkit UI 4chan leak (probably not the final design btw)

Persona (the main series), as far as I've heard, is NOT leaving the PlayStation brand

So we've all heard the rumors that Persona 5 is going to be coming out for the Switch/PC in the future. I can certify those are false, as there is no mention outside of speculation.

Persona 5 S is the only game that's been confirmed with the title "Persona" on a platform that is not from Sony. I know that a lot of people were hoping that We'd see more SMT/Persona titles elsewhere, but the sad truth is that there's literally NOTHING being spoken about as of now. I made the post a couple weeks ago about the S/NES original SMT coming to the Switch - which will happen. Though after receiving nearly 20 messages of people begging me to disclose more, assuming I had more to disclose, I have to be blunt:

Nothing else from the past archive is coming out.

Why? I don't know. Atlus probably has their reasons, and I'm not aware of what those reasons may be.
I have a couple contacts in the gaming media which have slid a few things they know under the table to me a couple others; and I can guarantee that if something as big as Persona 5 showing up on PC was going to be announced, you would have heard *something* by now - anything. Remember all that stuff about Death Stranding being Metal Gear Solid in disguise? Yeah, didn't happen even though everyone who wasn't in the media (and a few suckers) were convinced there just *had* to be some connection.

GTA VI Info

I won't say if I'm a current or former employee of Rockstar as it will make me harder to track that way. Any info I share is from the 2015-2018 years of development for GTA VI. I have my own reasons for doing this and I won't blame you if none of you believe any of what I am about to tell you.

With that out of the way, let's get to the juicy bits, Yeah? Just like IV was to New York and V to LA, VI will be in vice city which draws inspiration from Miami, the Florida everglades, and an area that is inspired from parts of Atlanta, Georgia and the suburbs around it. As for size, it's actually a bit smaller than V's map was. I am not certain of this since I'm not working on the story, I'm just the graphic modeler here, but the game seemingly takes place sometime in the late 90's as a co-worker of mine did art for a newspaper clip from the Vice City Inquirer talking about the Y2K bug which, if I remember correctly, the article blamed it on the president whose to busy having sex parties at the white house.

That's all I'm willing to say and even then I think I said too much. I have no idea when we will announce it but I can sadly tell you it won't be this year.

Rumor: Miss Universe: The Game NOT cancelled, still in development.

Details:

  • Game is still titled "Miss Universe: The Game"

  • Game is being developed by Criterion Games (Burnout, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit/Most Wanted reboots), with help from DICE Sweden, Motive Studios (Vancouver office) and a new studio in Manila, Philippines.

  • Expected to release in Holiday 2021; PC, PS4/Pro/5, Xbox One/One S/One X/Series X/Lockhart. Xbox is said to have the potential marketing rights for the game.

  • Runs on Frostbite and will be the showcase game for the engine's new hair tech.

  • Game will be COMPLETELY different from EA Black Box's version.

  • Game features a single-player story campaign; Players play as a college senior from Panama (voiced by Keity Drennan, Miss Panama ‘16) wanting to try out for Miss Universe but has to overcome various things (her weight, her spoken English, finishing her college term). Co-developed by Criterion and Motive.

  • Campaign will feature a dialogue system similar to Mass Effect. Will be playable in either English or Spanish. The main character will be named by the player and is customizable.

  • Campaign's story is said to be influenced by FIFA's, Madden's and Fight Night Champion's campaign modes.

  • Miss Universe Online (multiplayer mode), featuring 90-player multiplayer pageants (includes both preliminary and finals). Includes private/public modes as well as scheduled live events (think Xbox’s 1 vs. 100 and Texas Heat poker). Developed by DICE Sweden.

  • Selected former Miss Universes, Miss USAs and Miss Teen USAs will be playable in the multiplayer mode. Players will also be able to create/customize beauty queens.

  • Development began in late 2014, shortly after the cancellation of Criterion's Beyond Cars project. Several former Miss Great Britain brought in for help.

  • Post-release plans: All post-release content for MUO mode (venues/licensed characters) expected to be free. Game is also expected to have MTX for additional costumes/hair styles only.

  • Game is expected to be rated M for Mature (17+) due to the story campaign alone (Spanish profanity, brief/partial nudity but no breast/genital exposure, depictions of violent abuse) but will feature a content filter (like in Gears of War).

Of course, this is a rumor so these could be completely inaccurate/false but this was the info given to me by sources close to the game's development so take it with a grain of salt please.

Could GTA VI be set in London?

https://www.taxwatchuk.org/rockstar_2019_tax_relief/

Rockstar North recently declared a 36% tax break in the UK due to Rockstar being a registered UK company. This hike in tax rebate is only given to video games that ‘Represent British Culture’ according to HMRC.

Could this be a hint that Rockstar is making their next GTA game in the UK?

New High End PSVR coming this year

https://www.vrfocus.com/2020/01/vr-educations-trading-update-suggests-new-playstation-vr-for-2020/

If it launches in tandem with the PS5 which seems logical it will be a huge boon to mainstream VR.

Do we know anything about The Initiative's first-party Xbox Series X project?

Any information or even speculation would be welcome!

PS meeting info

The event:

-The event will be held at the Sony hall theatre on the 12th of February. Expect a short teaser to come out in the next two weeks.

-The press already knows about it and they will be able to test games and write articles. There will be a lot of news and iterviews with key figures like Mark Cerny and Hermen Hulst.

-The event will be presented by Geoff Keighley and it will be a very big show. After all you have to consider that Sony has been quiet for quite sometime now.

-Sony's strategy has been that not to reveal everything in one shot. Things like price, launch date and shape of the console will still be unknown after the PS meeting.

Specs:

-CPU: 8 core/16 threads at 3.6 ghz based on a Zen 2 architecture

-GPU: "Big Navi"/RDNA1 based with some features from RDNA2 like RT and VRS, 12.2 TF at 1.8 ghz

-Memory: 18GB DDR6 at 576gb/s and 4gb of DDR4 for the OS (Sorry HBM believers)

-1 TB SSD. The SSD is a proprietary solution similar to a cartridge and you will be able to purchase them separately in a way similar to an old memory card from the PS2 era(1tb, 2tb and 3 tb variants). It is very fast: 5gb/s

-It has a separate RT core just for the audio, this is something that Cerny and the audio people at Sony (Audiokinetic) insisted on. A new headphones will be made from Sony, specifically designed for the ray traced audio in PS5 games.

-Overall, the PS5 is a much more balanced machine than the PS4 pro. This is much more important than just brute force as devs will be able squeeze much much more from the hardware.

Games:

-First game announced for the PS5 will be from Bluepoint, Demon's Souls.

The trailer will start with a dragon flying through the ruins of an ancient city before landing on a bridge destroying part of it, the camera will then move to a character in a knight armor. The dragon will spit fire at the knight that will be parrying it with his shield.

The trailer ends with a voice saying "The old one is calling for thee" revealing the Demon's souls logo, available at launch.

Very impressive tech on showcase:, RT reflection all over the knight's armor

-Ubisoft will announce their new AC title, Assasin's Creed: Kingdom. As you already know it is set in northern europe with historical and mythological elements. The trailer is not really a trailer but a long gameplay (10+ mins).

The game focuses on being a better RPG than its predecessors with multiple endings and more meaningful choices for better roleplay. Immersion is also a big focus, Ubisoft has created a believable world based on the kingdom of Ragnar Sigurdsson (better known as Lothbrok) as king of Denmark.

NPCs have realistic routines and behaviours based on multiple situations they can be found in (finding shelter from the rain, fleeing their village after a raid from enemy soldiers are some examples).

All animations have been enhanced. Now the main character (male or female like in Odyssey) moves differently based on the enviroments they are in. Animations are really similar to something you can find in a ND game with the character touching the wall at their side if they get to close it or struggling to walk through snow or mud.

As many other games, AC:Kingdom will use the haptic triggers to simulate the action of pulling the rope of a bow or swinging an heavy weapon.

There are levels, but they are handled like in Skyrim or Kingdom come where you don't require a certain level to enter an area or fight a boss. Here you can access the whole world from the start and fight all the enemies, of course it will be very hard because your character will be very unexperienced and at first they will handle certain weapons with struggle, it will get better the more they use them.

I got mentioned something about ray tracing being used to eliminate clipping of the various clothes on the character's bodies, but I don't know anything other than it may be a thing on the next gen versions of the game.

Available at launch, but after the current gen versions.

-Gran Turismo 7 will be announced featuring full VR and RT support, native 4k and 60 fps. It will be a technical showcase for the console. Available at launch.

It features a single player carreer like the old GT games and a multiplayer mode similar to the sport mode in GT sport. The partnership with the FIA continues and the one with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes becomes even stronger (Lewis and the Mercedes brand are on the cover of the game and a big part of the single player carreer).

-New R&C game announced from Insomniac. Full RT support and sequel to the remake, but part of a new trilogy. Semi-open world with pilotable ships. It looks even more like a Pixar movie, this time on a way bigger scale. Available in 2021

-Capcom will show a demo of their updated RE engine and announce Dragon's Dogma 2 exclusively on the PS5. Deep Down was not all to waste and Capcom wisely decided to build upon it and create this new DD. It's a really impressive game technically. Full open world with fights and monsters similar to a Monster Hunter game. It will run at 60 fps on PS5.

It's unclear if the exclusivity deal has a limit or not. I'm willing to bet it will come out on Xbox Series X/S after a while

-Shuhei Yoshida will showcase lots of indies coming to PS4 and PS5 as part of the new "PS❤Indies" intiative at SIE. Games such as: Sky:children of the light, Inaka project, a new game from Jonathan Blow, Lost Soul aside and the new game from Ken Levine studio (not really an indie, but it will still be present in this short segment).

-TLOU: Factions will be revealed, coming to PS4, PS5 and PC these holidays. It is a multiplayer only title made to replace the "Factions" mode of the original TLOU. It features an open world similar to games like DayZ, but with the love and care that you can expect expect from a team like ND.

It will feature: different seasons like Forza Horizon 4 (each will come with its pros and cons), clan support, a battle pass, a fully destructible map, lots of depth for roleplay (players will be able to cover various roles in their games: doctors, bounty hunters, traders, mercenaries for the various groups of players, soldiers ecc.), the players will be able to build camps and even "addomesticate" clickers and runners. 4k/60 with RT audio on PS5 and 1080 30 on PS4/pro. Cross play is being experimented (the difference in framerate may be an issue).

-Sony reveals a new team based in San Diego and their new game, Uncharted. A sequel to U4, but with different characters and a few cameos from the old games. Just a teaser will be shown featuring exotic locations from all around the world and glimpses at veichles both aerial and terrestrial. No release date given.

-Activision announces Crash Bandicoot:worlds on PS4 and PS5 for then end of the year (think Mario galaxy, but with Crash Bandiccot) and confirms that COD will be back at the end of the year on PS5 and in partnership with PS once again.

-Square Enix shows an impressive tech demo of a new version of the luminous engine featuring RT shadows, reflections and lighting along with 4k textures and realistic facial animations. Very reminiscent of the aestethic you can find in a FF game, but no real announcement is made (for now).

-Guerilla announces Killzone: Breach. A mp only title for PS5 and PC. The influence from games like R6 can be seen a lot during the trailer. Full destructible enviroment and a "War" mode that features up to 80 players in a fully destructible arena (Remember that first Crackdown 3 demo?). Available at launch.

-Mark Cerny announces full backwards compatibility with PS4/3/2/1/VR and that PS Vita and PSP are in the works. The PS4/2/1 whole lineup will be fully compatible from launch. As for PS3 games, they will be made compatible regularly by Sony in a way similar to how Xbox already does it on Xbox One with 360 games. All the games will receive technical enhancments like 4k resolution, better AA and 60 fps. Demos for TLOU 2, RDR1, Jak 2 and the original GT are shown briefly.

-Last announcement will be a small teaser with in-game graphics of Horizon 2. The teaser shows an older Aloy meditating on the top of a Mountain before being attacked by a huge machine and hijacking a thunderbird in order to ride it and fly around the huge machine to fight it. 2021

-Please note that all games that I've listed are exclusive to the PS5 unless I've said otherwise.

-Don't expect any PSVR2 news. VR will be mentioned as you can see, but it is still a bit early for PSVR2.

Bethesda is hiring new roles that definently point towards The Elder Scrolls 6 development.

SPECULATION

Here's the listing: https://jobs.zenimax.com/requisitions/view/1284

A few key points of this listing:

"Bethesda Game Studios is looking for talented programmers to join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and consoles."

"Collaborate on the implementation of new gameplay features: player and characters’ behaviors, combat and powers mechanics, user interface, etc."

It seems too late for Bethesda to be hiring for development of Starfield. I'd believe that Starfield has entered it's final polishing stages and Bethesda has started full production of Elder Scrolls 6. Thus, the hiring of new roles.

Their studio has grown significantly over the last few years, but I would say that it's release is still a long time away.

Thoughts on this?

The Order: 1886 sequel happening for PS5

Per Pushsquare:

OsirisBlack, a NeoGAF user who previously outed a bunch of information about PS4 Pro before its release, is back with more alleged insider information. While not naming The Order directly, OsirisBlack implies this is the case across a few posts. The forum goer claims to have seen a gameplay trailer for this sequel, and describes it in pretty comprehensive detail. By the sound of it, the trailer will show a man with a shoulder-mounted device making his way through a dimly lit set of rooms, with the action picking up when a yellow-eyed monster gives chase. OsirisBlack describes the character models, lighting, and physics as "on another level"

Info from a friend who works as a programmer with EA in regards to the next gen xbox

"Xbox is avoiding exclusives for the first two years of their new console because they are WAY behind with the new console." "fact is we dont have any dev kits." "we don't even have extensive docs" "They are forced to do this strategy - just tell their first parties "well develop for current gen now and worry about next gen later" "We have had PS5 dev kits for months - Microsoft is so behind its absurd. We don't even have an ETA for dev kits from Microsoft"
