I'm an ex-employee at Xbox. Was initially a part of the Xbox Division as an intern and was later promoted to a full-time job as soon as the Xbox X Series plans were in full swing. I also worked in certain projects under Matts Booty and Phil Spencer.
I have heard from various sources, that Microsoft are seeking to acquire Zenimax and not Sony (as previously falsely rumored by various media sources)
What differs from that rumor, is that there won't be remasters of all the Fallout games. Also, the deal further entails that Zenimax can continue to push out games on multiple platforms, but Microsoft will get the revenue.
As recently confirmed, the Xbox Series X will not have any pure XSX exclusives for the first 2 years, but don't fret, this is being done for the best.
The amazing team at Xbox Games Studios has a number of surprises planned for the Xbox fans. We have about 21 exclusive projects under the works and they are absolutely massive, both in quality and ambition. Though, it is not entirely confirmed that all of these 21 projects will eventually be released but the future currently looks very exciting. 4 of these projects are second party exclusive games involving some BIG developer geniuses. You already may have an idea who I'm talking about :)
Now, I know that I don't have any proof of these 'claims' but just wait for an year or two, all will be revealed in good time. Fable fans have a lot to look forward to.
And oh, MS is nowhere done with acquisitions. Playtonic, Moon Studios, Studio MDHR, Remedy are currently in talks. Nowhere near finalized though.
"Maelstorm" is the first original IP by "The Initiative". A Minecraft sequel was also previously discussed but the idea was shot down due to Minecraft being an ecosystem of it's own with regular updates.
