[4chan rumour] Splinter Cell: Fifth Freedom reveal at TGAs. (Ubisoft Barcelona w/assistance from Berlin, Toronto, BlueByte)

I thought this was either a pretty darn good LARP, or potentially legit. (Especially since Ubisoft Spain have been making some strange tweets about Splinter Cell.) The OP claims to be from Ubisoft Blue Byte. I think the interesting part of this rumour is that they give zero details on plot. A lot of fake rumours go into detail about plot and such, which someone at Blue Byte wouldn't know. Instead we got some weirdly excessive breakdowns of multiplayer modes and stuff. And also details on various Ubisoft studios supposedly working on it.

I looked through the /v/ thread and picked out posts that seem to match the OP's writing style. (Little things like using @ instead of at).

Collection of Posts Below (I've also linked to some screenshots of the thread for context to some of the answers):

Bluebyte only joined the splinter cell team in march so i cant really say alot about the game getting changed. We are mainly here for 3d Assets and props

I can only speculate on that but i think the reason why other employees haven't leaked anything concrete untill now is because we really didn't know if the game was actually in a state that you could call "ready to greenlight" bluebyte and toronto joined right after the anno release and as far as i know the selected few people @ barcelona have been working on the engine all that time before we joined.

With all our releases pushed to next year crunch is at a minimum and morale is high so i guess people are happy enough not to leak.

I joined bluebyte in 2015 so i actually didn't know, i mean i never met the man everything audio related happens in our recording studio in san francisco

I'm not sure desu, bluebyte and ubisoft berlin are only involved in asset and environment creation, aside from the actual assets we don't have alot of info regarding lore or storywriting.
As far as china goes i doubt we're going to do anything that antagonizes the chinese market especially considering that we have studios in shanghai and chengdu. But one thing is clear ubisoft barcelona will not censor anything to appease any global market, they refused to do so with R6 and im sure splinter cell will be the same.

i'm actually not sure what kind of information will be revealed at TGA, as far as i know toronto is working on a cinematic right now. Might only be a teaser/trailer and gameplay during E3.

Breakpoint is Ubisoft paris so i cant comment on that mood whise i can only talk about bluebyte and berlin since im located in germany but considering that we just launched anno at the beginning of the year and berlin is fairly new morale is high.

Well berlin is a fairly new an small studio, berlin currently has 2 teams working on 2 games one is splinter cell and the other one ist just using a alias and unknown.
We at Ubisoft bluebyte are currently mainly working on "Die Siedler" (The Settlers) and we help out with assets on SC.

I'm not stupid enough to risk revealing my identitiy, our employee id cards are dynamically coated and perforated.
